The screen is used to protect firemans, which are handling by the portable fire-fighting hoses in the course of extinguishing of the oil- and gas-gushers. These hoses are established near the mouth of gusher. Since the intensity of heat radiation from gusher is very high, the echelon protection of firemans is used commonly. This type protection is organized placing some firemans with manual fire-fighting hoses in the direction of gusher and at some intervals. Each fireman cools the fireman standing in front by water jets, and the last in this series cools the fireman, which handle by portable fire-fighting hose placed near the mouth of gusher. The use of "Sogda" 4 enables one to handle by the portable fire-fighting hose for a long time near the mouth of gusher without the use of the echelon protection.
